About The Team
Dato’ Franck Choo Chuo Siong
Frank is the Managing Director of Aged Care Group (ACG) & Managedcare Sdn Bhd (wholly owned business of ACG). He is also the Director of Xiao En Group. He also serves as an Advisor at the Centre of History and Contemporary Research in CHINA-ASEAN. He has completed several housing developments in East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, which include office buildings, housing development and apartment projects in the Klang Valley. Frank is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of Pavilion Real Estate Investment Trust.
Dr. Carol Yip
(B. Econ (Hons), MBA (Finance), M. in Counselling, PhD (Monash))
Dr. Yip is the Chief Executive Officer of Aged Care Group (ACG) & Managedcare Sdn Bhd. She has more than a decade’s worth of experience in financial planning as well is one of Malaysia’s leading advocates of personal financial education and sustainable retirement for Malaysians. Carol is also a columnist, author, speaker, personal financial advisor and coach. In 2012, she was appointed by PEMANDU (Performance Management & Delivery Unit), a unit in the Prime Minister’s Department, as the facilitator for a 5-week PEMANDU Senior Living lab discussion with regulators, business owners, non-profit organisations and individuals about future plans for Malaysia’s aged care and senior living.
Her current projects include helping property developers to conceptualise the Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) of integrated residential care centres (nursing homes) and active living residential units for active retirees within townships, which included financial feasibility studies of nursing home operations.
Chief Executive Officer’s Department (CEOD)
Derrick Z Chan
Derrick has a background in Psychology and is a member of the British Psychology Society, with strong foundation in research along with his experience in community and health support services. He is driven to apply his experience and passion into the aged care industry in Malaysia. Derrick is currently based in the CEO’s office, providing support and assistance in special projects and research initiatives.
Marketing & Communications (MARCOMM)
Shalini currently spearheads the Corporate and Marketing Communications Department at Aged Care Group. Her areas of experience include integrated marketing communications, stakeholder engagement strategies, strategic planning, internal/external communications, corporate reporting, media relations, crisis communications, campaign and project management for diverse industries from retail, banking and finance, capital markets which led to retirement and aged care.
Previously, she was the Head of Communications for The Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia (FIMM) in driving educational campaigns and financial literacy programmes to enhance investor protection, confidence and integrity of the Investment Management Industry in Malaysia. She was also involved in corporate reporting and provided advisory to the Professional Development Services Department on matters relating to industry professionalism.
Prior to FIMM, she was key personnel of The Asian Banker and provided strategic management for the centre of excellence in terms of costs and operations of The Banking Academy (The training arm of The Asian Banker). Her strong business acumen skills led to a proven track record in identifying profitable products and generated revenue of USD1.4 million in 2008 for the Banking Academy.
Shalini holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the National University Malaysia and majored in Political Science.
Reeca is a capable marketing professional who conceptualises design and development, as well as highly experienced with brand management. She possesses a comprehensive background in both product and service marketing. Joining Aged Care, she is passionate about employing innovative marketing strategies that turns an ordinary service into an extraordinary experience.
With 12 years of experience within the design and media industry, April is passionate about expressing the subtle beauty and story of graceful ageing through innovative graphics to convey education on aged care interactively to her audiences. Being part of the creative team, April designs marketing collaterals and is involved in the design of 3Age portal.
Teo Wei Bin
Putting his previous graphic designing experience with a leading Chinese daily and educational institution to good use, Wei Bin is now the graphic designer for ACG campaigns and 3Age portal. To increase public awareness of dementia, he spearheaded a videography competition, entitled “Remember Me”.
Lai Chee Hong
A former reporter and editor for a local press, Chee Hong now serves as Writer/ Editor for ACG. Noting the lack of attention given to seniors, he initiated a photography competition, themed “The Beauty of Elderly”. He is also a poem, literature, essay lover and writer, and has won several literature awards in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Having experienced at a young age the challenges of caring for the sick and elderly, Jason is passionate about investing in lives and galvanising the landscape of elderly care. Formerly from a banking background, Jason made the switch to communications to give a voice to this growing segment of the population and is currently the editor for ACG’s English communications.

To’ Puan Dr Safurah bt Jaafar
With over 24 years’ experience in health services management and primary healthcare, To’ Puan Dr Safurah bt Jaafar has accomplished many significant achievements; from restructuring the Family Health system to establishing haemodialysis services in primary health care clinics. During her tenure as Director of the Ministry of Health’s Family Health Development Division, she led her team to draft and drive the Aged Healthcare Act Bill prior to her retirement in January 2017. Currently, she is the Head of Sub-Specialty for Family Health in the Academy of Medicine’s Public Health Medicine Chapter. With a string of accomplishments and passion, she now joins ACG’s Advisory Panel to develop Malaysia’s aged care ecosystem and address the nation’s ageing issues.
With 35 years in the field of banking and finance, Peter Chow’s leadership has led many businesses toward success, whilst ensuring their sustainability. He was Hong Leong Bank Berhad’s former COO in the Business & Corporate Banking division responsible for commercial & corporate lending, trade finance, liabilities management and private banking until he retired in 2014. Prior to that, he was Eon Bank Berhad’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer in Group Business & Investment Banking. He has since retirement, taken up an advisory role to Sentoria Group Berhad on corporate financial matters. He brings forth his invaluable expertise in finance to the aged care industry as a distinguished Member of ACG’s Advisory Panel.
